The Seven Last Words: Listening for Jesus' Guidance on Facing and Healing Racism

Stations of the Cross: Crucifixion - Painted by Cavin Jones for St. Vincent’s Church, Germantown, Philadelphia, PA

New Encounters’ invites you to join us for our Lenten program for 2024: The Seven Last Words: Listening for Jesus’ Guidance on Facing and Healing Racism.

Over six weeks, we will have a weekly meeting to consider, meditate on, and be inspired by each of the Seven Last Words of Christ. A reflection will be offered each week by a different presenter, centered around listening to how Jesus’ words can guide us as we work to heal the effects of the sin of racism.

Our presenters are Catholics from diverse backgrounds from around the Archdiocese: Terrance Fulton, Ursula Yau, Dermis De Jesus, Maureen O’Connell, Chris Bolden-Newsome, and Adaobi Anakwe.

Six Thursday evenings from 7-8 pm
February 15 thru March 21, 2024
On Zoom

Registration is FREE, thanks to ongoing financial support from The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia.
